Meet the Team
-
William Butler
FOUNDER + CEO
Will is the CEO and Founder of GaiaSicura Ltd. Following over 10 years in specialist global construction insurance broking he took the decision to ‘take what he’s good at and make it do some good’, and so set GaiaSicura in motion. His accolades include being the Chairman and Founder of the Insurance Institute of London’s Nature and Sustainability Committee, Insurance lead for the FloodAction Coalition, Management and Nature group member for Climatewise, research aid for the UNEP/UNDP/Naturance, BNG Assurance Group member and many others.
Fundamentally though Will is the son of a farmer, his upbringing cementing him as a truly passionate advocate for nature. He has a singular focus on taking a unique skillset and innovating ways in the traditional financial markets to advance net-positive policy and mechanisms to benefit the Natural World.
In his spare time (on the rare occasions he has it) Will can be found chasing his Spaniel (our CFO) around the South Downs, coming up with new pointless DIY projects in his workshop, or helping out on odd jobs around his family farm. He truly believes that insurance can be made to do good for the world and is willing to drag the market (kicking and screaming if needed) into that mindset.

Tom Butler
PHOTOGRAPHER
Tom Butler is our CEO’s brother, by day a wildflower farmer in the heartlands of Hampshire for our family friends the Wildflower co, a business that was instrumental in introducing us to the world of Natural Capital. When he isn’t creating thousands of hectares worth of biodiversity, he’s busy taking pictures of it in his spare time as a professional Wildlife and Nature photographer.
Most photos featured on our site are from his portfolio, which will be routinely updated as we grow. Please do reach out to him directly, or ask the team, if you would like to engage his services for your regeneration sites.

Caesar Butler
CFO (CHIEF FETCH OFFICER)
Caesar joins us from his previous role as the Head of Emotional Support in the Butler household, as well as his part time position as a Sower of Chaos amongst the tranquil hills of Hampshire.
In the words of the late and great Dr. Jane Goodall “You cannot share your life with a dog and not know perfectly well that animals have personalities, minds, and feelings,” a sentiment that Caesar reminds us of every day - in fact our CEO often likes to point out that he could do with a touch less personality, particularly whilst featuring on teams calls...
An inspiration of energy, understanding of celebrating the small wins, and demonstrating that loving unconditionally is really what all of this is about, Caesar is the finest ambassador that a business like ours could hope for and a reminder to occasionally stop and smell the flowers that we’re working so hard to plant.
